It’s finally here. The most memorable season in Padres history was followed by the most memorable offseason in Padres history. The mood and identity of the team and its fans have been transformed after unprecedented investment by Peter Seidler (@PedroPadre77) and ambitious guidance by AJ Preller.
Last season saw the trade of the century bringing prodigy Juan Soto to the Brown and Gold. Somehow only 8 months later the Padres again have a farm system stocked with high end talent. Spring training saw the continued development of blue chipper Jackson Merrill, and generational talent Ethan Salas who caught his first professional game at age 16, and in his first AB against major league pitching hit a sharp groundball to second base - wild stuff for a high school junior. Dylan Lesko will be making his long awaited debut soon.
The 2022 playoffs included the most tense ALDS rivalry in National League history.
The offseason saw enormous star power added with Xander Bogaerts, and the future of Manny Machado secured.
Nearly all the heroes from last season returned to make the Padres strongest push for a World Series since the turn of the century.
The present is radiant with a Padres lineup full of star power. Yet the future is bright as well.
The Padres are in the best position they’ve been in in the franchise’s existence.
We want to usher in the new season with just the right tenor, and the best way we can think is to share the following creation from the peerless Justice Parman (@justice_parman):
This is the Dawning of the Age of Padquarius
