“Clownshoes statue take”…”playing rope-a-dope”…not sure Arraez has ever been described more perfectly haha. What a great team win last night. Brilliant pitchers duel, incredible defense, and excellent work by the pen. So happy to see that Merrill and Tatis are able to compartmentalize their game, and not let their offensive struggles compound into defensive lapses. Those gloves are elite! Hope the snakes get bitten tonight.
Arráez started the season: 0-13. Since then: .304; .344 over 23 games. Fans hate the statue take, but he’s still one of the best hitters for average in MLB
Whatever happened with the petco park humidor? Whenever I start to hear about moving fences in, I go back to Rockies and humidors. I thought all parks were neutralizing play through ball humidity. Are we doing it? Has it made any difference?
so Fernando is scared of the ball, right? he's always flailed melodramatically at pitches remotely inside but now his first move in the box is back, like a timid LLer when the big kid is pitching. he doesn't lean in, step to the ball or fully commit and he lurches out of the way of strikes. outside of John Kruk vs Randy Johnson, I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. what a mess. what do you even do about this?
